Dear Non-Native New Yorkers

You know I love you.  This city wouldn’t be nearly as fabulous if it weren’t for all the amazing people moving here from all over the world, pretty much every day. And I’m not just saying that.

But here’s the thing - fresh bagels don’t get toasted. Not if you’re eating them with cream cheese.  And I’m getting tired of having to point this out (note:  I’m not supposed to eat bagels as they’re not on my glutton-free diet but as I love bagels as much as any food on the planet I cheat a couple times a month).  So if I wait on line at my local bagel joint and ask for a poppy with scallion I don’t want to have to remember to remind the guy to NOT toast it.  Because toasting it - a fresh bagel that he’s about to put cream cheese on - it JUST WRONG.
