How wrong can a guy be? Let me count the ways...

The headline is, Where Guacamole Does a Star Turn. And being the guac lover that I am, I read it right away.

Now, let me be clear, Sam Sifton got it right about Toloache. The guac rocks. It’s just that he got everything else wrong.

He’s starts with one of the least accurate statements I’ve ever seen in the NYTimes (and lord knows there’s plenty of competition for that title), “IT is difficult to eat well in the theater district”.

Difficult to eat well in the theater district?  Has he even tried?  In 2010?  I’m guessing not, as he mentioned curry at Pam’s Real Thai (which doesn’t even make any smart list of the top 3 Thai places in the ‘hood).  Joe Allen, Chez Napolean, Gallagher’s???  It seriously sounds like he’s trapped in the 90s.  Or the 80s.  OK, 70s.

Plop me anywhere in the theater district with 30 bucks and 90 minutes to eat and I’ll be a happy lil camper.  Give me an extra $20 (we’re talking tourists on a big night out, here) and I’ll be happier than a kid on Xmas morning.
